On the move!

Jacob was just laying on his belly practicing his roll overs when he figured out how to move backwards and went three feet in reverse! Let the fun begin. Guess we better start thinking about baby proofing. But where to start?!

Sleep!

Well Jacob has been more often than not been sleeping through the night in his crib, with maybe one wake up. But last night he slept all night with NO wake up til morning! It was the first night I slept, or stayed, in my own bed all night in a long time. Now if I could just sleep and stop "listening" for a sound! :-)

See my new tooth!

A boy after his Mama's heart... already eating her favorite veggie, green beans!

Toes on the table, a new after dinner tradition. My, how the times have changed in our house!

Monday again!

Boy the weeks seem to go fast... and the weekends even faster! Jacob had swimming Friday followed by a nice nap. He really enjoys the water. Saturday was so rainy. We went down to my parents for the afternoon and then grocery shopped that evening. Such an exciting way to spend Saturday evening! Sunday was better weather wise, although no sun like the weatherman promised. We went to our friends for the afternoon and dinner. Jacob was a good boy after he got over his initial stranger anxiety. Poor Carter was attacked by a Tonka dump truck and took a header while we were there and came up with two bite marks in his bottom lip. Tough guy was rallying by the time we left. Hope he had an okay evening.

Now, what to do today?

Blackhawk Landing at School

Yesterday at school a blackhawk medic helicopter landed in honor of Veteran's Day. It was an incredible experience for everyone. The kids and adults were all so excited you could feel the energy! One of our 6th grade teachers whose son is the co-pilot of this brand new 18 million dollar aircraft organized the event. The guardsmen spoke with the students about dreaming big and making good choices in life. After we all got to look in the helicopter and ask questions about it. It weighs 17,000 pounds, can fly up to about 160 miles per hour, and carries 6 patients plus 4 crew members. I wish I could of gone for a ride!

Indian Summer

The last few days have been a gift! Warm weather and sunshine are always welcome. I worked today (Monday), but got to enjoy Sunday outside. It was one of my most productive days in quite a while. Not to mention a mood lifter! I started out at 9:00 by cutting down perennials while Jacob took his morning nap. It was a mad dash for an hour and a half until he woke. Then we went to Rutland for a few groceries. He fell asleep on the way home so I parked out back while I carried the groceries in the house. I proceeded to wash the car while he slept in his car seat! After waking he watched from his stroller while I finished the perennials. We also did lots of laundry and went for a walk. When Ted got home we tried to go for a hike at Pico but it cools down very quickly and Jacob wasn't dressed warm enough to be out for that long. So we walked around at the bottom throwing the ball for Pili. Since she couldn't swim in the pond she decided to roll in the pool of muddy water to cool her hot body. Needless to say, she got a bath when we got home (Thanks to Ted!). What a great day!

Where did the real Jacob go?

This was a first! Usually Jacob+tired+high chair = fussiness, but last night this was happening:

Another tooth!

Tooth number three has arrived! The upper left incisor. Yesterday you could see it and today you can feel it. It looks like it must be really painful. No wonder he is still not himself. And his nose is still very stuffy. Of course he had just started sleeping pretty well in his crib in his bedroom and now this. We are trying again tonight but for the last two nights he's been in bed with us. My poor baby... I just want him to feel better and be happy.
