Jacob has an ear infection in his right ear. :-( I knew something was bothering him, although I really thought the doctor wouldn't find anything. He's on amoxicillian twice a day for 10 days. He was fussy earlier, didn't take a morning nap, but has been good lately. He had yogurt and ravioli for lunch, then we went for a walk, and is now playing. I assume he will be napping for several hours very soon. Guess that means I will get to clean the bathrooms! Hopefully in 24 hours or so he will be back to himself.
Ted is in Providence on business, buying for next year's winter season until late Wednesday night. We are doing fine but miss him. Jacob's cold and cough continue to SLOWLY improve. I'm having him rechecked this morning just to make sure his ears are okay (because I am an overly worrisome mama). He has been fussy on and off, especially Sunday, which is so unlike him. He slept well last night until 4:00, then was up for an hour or so, and is now still sleeping. I'm going in a little late to school today. It's really nice not to have to be up by 5:30 rushing to leave by 7:15! Let's hope everything is okay at the doctor's and that my baby boy starts to feel better.

Oh yea, yesterday was his 11 month birthday! 27 days until his first birthday... 26 days until the party! I can't wait!

I hear someone calling my name...

Jacob's cough and stuffy/runny nose are slowly improving. He's still not eating well and is fussy on and off, which just isn't him. I have the head of his bed elevated to help with his nose, but it doesn't work too well when I come to get him in the morning and he's turned around so that his feet are elevated! Silly boy!

Happy B-Day Gianna!

We just got home from Gianna's 7th birthday party at the Pico pool. Jacob had a great time but was so tired that he fell asleep in the car before we got home (1.5 miles!). He really loves to swim. The party was awesome and all the kids were having a blast. Jacob also enjoyed a few bites of cake and ice cream. Which reminds me that I have to decide what kind of cake to make for him... his party is four weeks from tomorrow. Monday he will be 11 months! It doesn't remotely seem possible that almost a year has gone by. He has changed so much, though. He is babbling up a storm, mostly "dada, dada!" I'm still waiting for the "mama's" to start. Once in a while he comes out with one. His new thing is saying quiet sounds like "tuh, tuh." Pretty cute. He still isn't crawling but ties hard. He really enjoys walking around while holding onto your fingers.

Well the Mr. Giggles video was from last weekend, before Jacob got sick, AGAIN! What is going on with him? Poor little baby started with a stuffy nose and cough on Monday. It was about the same Tuesday but got a lot worse that night, which of course resulted in not sleeping. Just what he doesn't need when he's sick. So Wednesday we saw Dr. Adams. His ears looked good, and lungs/bronchial tubes sounded clear, which she said surprised her due to his bad sounding cough. I guess it's the same old drill again... a virus that has to run its course. The good news is that he slept well last night and is still sleeping at 6:18. I will probably have to wake him soon (I hate doing that) or have Ted bring him to Aunt Dawn's. Hopefully he's feeling a little better today and will be a good boy for Aunt Dawn. I know he will be in good hands!

Weight: 26 lbs 10 oz (but that was with a diaper on, and it was wet!) :-)

The count down is on to his birthday... 32 days til March 8th... 31 days til his party!

Coughing

Jacob woke up this morning coughing. He didn't have a fever or seem to be unhappy, but kept coughing this sometime barky, sometimes rattly cough. Me being the overly worrisome mom that I am, decided to call the doctor. They wanted to see him because of his history of neutropenia, RSV is prevalent, and since it was Friday... So we saw Dr. Wood at 1:30. Jacob didn't have a fever and his lungs and ears were clear. Dr. Wood said RSV is going around but he didn't think Jacob had it. I guess you get a different sounding cough and a very runny nose, which he doesn't have at this point. He said it was a virus which has to run its course, and there isn't much you can do... run the vaporizer, elevate the head of the bed, have him drink pleanty of liquids, etc. He's napping now. Poor baby.

On a positive note, he's starting to move around more and pushing himself forward on his belly at times! Crawling is in his near future.

He now weighs 26 pounds!!
