Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone!  It's 7am and I'm waiting for my sick little elf to wake up and see that Santa has come!  Actually I hope he sleeps as long as possible so he will feel better.  I don't think he feels too bad, just has a stuffy, runny nose.  Luckily now he can blow it!  I still find it hard to believe that at 21 months he can really blow his nose!  And I have to give all the credit to Ted who taught him (although I'm sure that my pre-teaching helped!).  LOL!

We spent Christmas Eve with my family and had a great time.  Jacob somehow knows how to open presents.  I guess it's just another one of those innate skills.  :-)  He still has some presents left from Grammie and Papa to open today, along with what Santa brought.  I CAN'T WAIT!

Wow, my first choo choo train!  Thanks Gram and Gramp!  I love it!

 Look, no hands!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I can't believe it's already here... Christmas Eve!  After Jacob's nap we'll be off to Grammie and Papa's house in Shrewsbury for Christmas with my side of the family.  I'm seriously hoping that Jacob is not getting sick but he didn't sleep very well last night which usually isn't a good sign.  He went to be late and then took several hours to really get to sleep.  And I heard him coughing in his sleep.  He hasn't coughed since he got up but his nose might be a little stuffy.  And then there's poor (or should I say not-so-smart) Pili!  She went out yesterday morning and stayed out for quite a long time.  When she finally came in she proceeded to spit out half of a long thin, fresh bone!  It was so gross.  Obviously she ate someone's left overs that weren't worthy of being eaten.  I'm thinking it was a bird and the bone was from a wing.  She seemed fine all day until we were outside playing, then she threw up bones two times.  So I didn't feed her last night... this morning she was waiting a the back door to go out.  She's pretty quiet this morning- maybe I'll try feeding her and see what happens.  Not sure if I should call the vet or not...

I'm feeling thankful this morning for the sleep I got last night!  Yesterday was a rough day starting at 2:30AM!!  I don't know why, but Jacob was up and I couldn't get him back to sleep.  He only took a short nap during the day so by 6pm he was in full melt down mode, as was I.  So he went to bed at 7:00 and I followed at 7:45.  Thankfully he slept 12 hours straight and I almost did too!  Hopefully today is better.. it should be since it's the first full day of vacation!  The good part of yesterday was that I went to the Gift-Of-Life Marathon blood drive with my mom, gramp, aunt, and uncle.  My grandfather is the largest blood doaner in the states of VT and NH at 38+ gallons!  WOW- that 's so amazing!  They collected over 1300 pints of blood, beating the record set in Boston- way to go Rutland!

A great weekend!

Finishing up his last minute Christmas shopping!

Jacob likes to practice his "mountain rolls" from gymnastics over Pili!

 TAH DAH!

We had a fun weekend with gymnastics, lots of sledding, a little skiing and snowboarding, and dinner at Sal's.  Jacob was a great boy, as usual.  And now it's Monday again, but you can't complain when you only have to work a day and a half this week and then it's vacation!  I just wish Ted could be on  vacation with us!!

We're ready!

The shopping is done.  The wrapping is done.  The cookies are at least started.  So I guess we are ready for the festivities to begin!  I'm so excited about this Christmas it's just crazy!!  Jacob is going to have so much fun opening presents from Santa.  He's being a very good boy with the tree and moves his ornaments around.  He's gotten very good at putting them back on the tree.  The only thing is that he puts them all back on right in the same spot- it's so cute!  The other day I saw him trying to hang his wooden train track on the tree!  LOL!  Today we are going to take him up to Pico to play around at the bottom for a little bit.  Maybe Ted and I will get to take turns taking a run or two!

Santa Train!

CHOO, CHOO! All aboard the Santa Train! Sunday afternoon we took the Santa Train from Rutland to the North Pole to see Santa's village. It was a cold wait in line but Jacob enjoyed the train. His eyes were absolutely huge as the train started to move. We slowly made our way north on a warm train filled with singing and dancing elves while we had hot chocolate and cookies. We saw Santa's village but Mrs. Clause said we had just missed Santa who left to do errands in Rutland. The elves were all working hard making toys... there must of been lots of good boys and girls this year (like Jacob!).
