Happy New Year!

We just came in from a wonderful walk. The temp out is so nice and we got an inch or two making the trees beautiful. It was nice enough to work on brushing some hair out of Pili without wearing gloves!
We took a quick trip to West Leb with my mom and Gram today. We has a great lunch a Panera Bread. Jacob was a very good boy. We don't have much planned for tonight. Ted was going to bring home a piece of tuna from Sushi Yoshi and I just made some rice cone sushi (I forget what it's really called). I'm sure it won't be close to what Motoko makes in the summer. Oh well, I tried!
Happy 2010 Everyone!

I've been good!

What a week its been and it's only two days into it! I worked all day Monday and got to take my friend Kathryn to the ER... she got bit! And no, it was not her cats! Let's just say there is a student who should only be getting coal for Christmas. I felt really bad for her; it was a nasty bite requiring a tetanus shot and 5 days of antibiotics. And then last night Ted went to the ER with his friend Nate! I'm not kidding! Nate was having chest/arm pain along with some other not good symptoms. I'm not sure the final results because Ted left after Amanda got there, but the EKG was good. Hopefully it's just be a case of holiday stress for a workaholic!

Today I worked until noon. There was a lot of partying going on but I actually accomplished some things! Then I picked Jacob up and did some errands. We came home and made two Italian Ravioli Casseroles with Spinach, one for us and one for our neighbors. Our neighbor is having her last chemo treatment tomorrow so we brought some food over. We had a great visit (Jacob was quite the performer... hamming it up!). It really made my day to sit and visit with Caroline. We need to do that more often!

Tomorrow I will do some cooking for Christmas Eve, wrap a few more things, and try to remember if I've forgotten anything. I'm so excited... I can't wait for Santa to come.

Now, time for a glass of wine.

Dartmouth Visit

Yesterday we went to Dartmouth to see Dr. Stotland regarding the flat spot on the back of Jacob's head. I had considered canceling because his head has gotten a lot better since we scheduled it, but since I'm neurotic, we decided to keep it. So I went thinking he wouldn't get a helmet, but once the doctor started talking I was sure he was going to get one.... but... he didn't! The doctor said he did have a small, flat spot, but thought he was just perfect (and we agree!) and didn't need the helmet. He thought it would continue to improve with time and to just try and keep him off the back of his head. The doctor took different measurements of his skull which also did not meet the criteria for the helmet. So his first helmet will be to ski or ride! :-)

9 Months

We had Jacob's 9 month well baby check up today with Dr. Wood. He is such an awesome doctor; so patient with me and my list of questions! Jacob weighed 24 pounds and 5 ounces, placing him above the 90th percentile. He was 29 inches tall and at the 75th percentile. Dr. Wood was not concerned about him being too big. He said he's just not expending that many calories yet since he's not very mobile. Overall he thought he was a picture of health (and cute, too!). He was quite the little flirt with everyone and didn't even cry when he got his second H1N1 flu shot (thimerisol free!). :-) Dr. Wood said Jacob could try all foods, except nuts and things too hard, of course, and that we should start baby proofing the house. I think that will be my project for Christmas vacation.

I know I keep saying it, but I really can't believe my baby is 9 months old!!

Shopping slow down

After breakfast with Santa we went Christmas shopping in Burlington. Luckily Ted can fix anything, and do it quickly, because we got a flat tire! There was a good size piece of metal in my tire. Jacob seemed to enjoy supervising Dada. It's an important job that he will be doing for many years!

Santa!

Saturday we had breakfast with Santa. It was a huge hit with Jacob and he not only loved the pancakes, but Santa, also! He flirted with everyone there and even sat on Santa's lap (no bottom lip came out at all!).
