Well the Mr. Giggles video was from last weekend, before Jacob got sick, AGAIN! What is going on with him? Poor little baby started with a stuffy nose and cough on Monday. It was about the same Tuesday but got a lot worse that night, which of course resulted in not sleeping. Just what he doesn't need when he's sick. So Wednesday we saw Dr. Adams. His ears looked good, and lungs/bronchial tubes sounded clear, which she said surprised her due to his bad sounding cough. I guess it's the same old drill again... a virus that has to run its course. The good news is that he slept well last night and is still sleeping at 6:18. I will probably have to wake him soon (I hate doing that) or have Ted bring him to Aunt Dawn's. Hopefully he's feeling a little better today and will be a good boy for Aunt Dawn. I know he will be in good hands!
Weight: 26 lbs 10 oz (but that was with a diaper on, and it was wet!) :-)
The count down is on to his birthday... 32 days til March 8th... 31 days til his party!

Coughing
Jacob woke up this morning coughing. He didn't have a fever or seem to be unhappy, but kept coughing this sometime barky, sometimes rattly cough. Me being the overly worrisome mom that I am, decided to call the doctor. They wanted to see him because of his history of neutropenia, RSV is prevalent, and since it was Friday... So we saw Dr. Wood at 1:30. Jacob didn't have a fever and his lungs and ears were clear. Dr. Wood said RSV is going around but he didn't think Jacob had it. I guess you get a different sounding cough and a very runny nose, which he doesn't have at this point. He said it was a virus which has to run its course, and there isn't much you can do... run the vaporizer, elevate the head of the bed, have him drink pleanty of liquids, etc. He's napping now. Poor baby.
On a positive note, he's starting to move around more and pushing himself forward on his belly at times! Crawling is in his near future.
He now weighs 26 pounds!!

10 months old!
Jacob turned 10 months old yesterday! He (and I) had a great week despite returning to work full time and having Ted away for two days. It was good to be back with my friends and to have a change of pace from the two days per week I've been putting in. Jacob is getting so big... eating everything thanks to his Aunt Dawn (I let him try things, too!). This week he had some chicken, pizza, more grilled cheese, cream of wheat, spatzel (we got take out from Countryman's Pleasure!), and I'm sure some other things I can't recall at the moment. He was on a good schedule all week and slept the most he's ever slept last night. He was asleep at 7:30 and didn't make a peep until 3:30, but went back to sleep with me until almost 8:00! Not too bad, huh!?! He has been having a few wake ups about an hour after going to bed, but not last night. He must of played hard yesterday (thanks Aunt Dawn!). He's up to and seems to be holding at 7 teeth, 4 top and 3 bottom. I keep looking for the other bottom tooth to balance him out but there is no sign of it yet (don't they come in twos?). He's still not crawling but just today pushed himself forward (rather than backward!) a couple of times while on his belly. He's so close- hopefully soon he will be on the move! He is moving around some while sitting. He uses one leg to push himself around, basically going in a circle. And he does like to hold your fingers now and walk around. But sledding with his Dada remains his his favorite mode of transportation at the moment.

2010!
Well the year my baby was born has come to an end. What an eventful year it was. I'm looking forward to 2010 and crawling, walking, talking, 1st birthday parties.... and all the other wonderful things that I'm sure will come our way. Once again I say, I can't believe all that is going on!!! Jacob's going to be 10 months old next week! Unfortunately he's already broken his New Year's resolution to sleep through the night... only lasted one night... 8pm to 6am. I guess it's a little taste of what's to come in the future. Although I do enjoy getting to snuggle with him in the middle of the night, and eventually that will come to an end. Now for my resolution... so many choices, what to pick?
It's snowing out. We may try going for a snowshoe this morning. I'm going to let Ted carry the 24 pound bundle on his back up our steep back hill!
HAPPY 2010!
